KOBZA is a string plucked lute-kind instrument with 4 double strings. The predecessor of KOBZA is small lute-kind instrument with long neck. Ancient Egyptians were playing it in XV century B.C. But straight ancestor of KOBZA is Arabic Al Ud.
KOBZA consists of body and fingerboard. There are 13 frets on the fingerboard, with the help of them musician can get 12 sounds of chromatic scale. Nowadays KOBZA is used in Ukrainian, Moldavian, Polish and Rumanian folk music.
