LAUD is a Spanish folk string plucked instrument with 6 double strings, transitional instrument from lute (al ud) to guitar. Laud consists of a pear-shaped body and fingerboard with 20 metal frets. It used in Spanish orchestras of folk music as solo so ensemble instrument. Laud is spread in countries of Latin America and it ishistorically parent of TIPLE, which influenced very much on forming of 12-string guitar.
